I've decided to stay longer. I do have some absences because this computer is not mine, but it's not because I ignore this place. I go on here quite a bit, actually lol.
anyway, on to the real journal,
well, you may or may not know, but I've been dating my boyfriend, Ben, for over a year now. I love him very much, and can't see myself w/ anybody else. we fought last month, though. it was pretty serious, and I was rly scared. I went to his house the next day, and we were fine -- even had makeup sex twice. I'm trying to be how I was when we first started dating, and I just don't know how. I don't know where it became bad, but I hope I'm OK now. I guess I am, since everything between us is great.
it was my birthday on the 30th, and Ben got me my most favorite game ever -- Kirby 64!
he also got me one of my favorite movies, Nacho Libre, and my favorite icecream, Spumoni~
we went out to dinner w/ my grandma, who's down here visiting from Oregon. we went to Wonderful's, a chinese restaurant. she said she'd take me shopping sometime soon, so I'm excited.
I've been swimming a lot recently, and walking, and it shows! I feel like I've lost at least one pound; although if I mentioned that around my friends they'd say I don't need it lol. but I do need to work out more, mostly because I hate my legs. I desperately want to lose weight there, but it's so hard for me to u__u
today I went out and turned in a lot of applications. I'm confident I'll get a job, and hopeful aswell. I applied at TiLLY's, and they said they were hiring, so I'm going to call or go back in a couple days about the application. I want to work there, or at Victoria's Secret a lot. they just my kind of stores lol.
you may have seen the animation I made earlier. I'm rly trying to get back into animating, because I want to make a few animated shorts. some of you know why I dislike it still, but I'll clarify to new watchers, or w/e.
I was taking an animation class at American River College, and I was freaking ecstatic! I mean, I loved to animate, and one of my dreams was to be a cartoonist -- I was going to take a class to become skilled at it. at first, I thought my professor was cool. he played WoW, but it didn't bother me because, "to each his own". the first month was pretty fun -- we watched videos and stuff about animation, and did some generic animations.
then it started going downhill. I wanted to take an animation class to get better at movements, and the tools in Flash. the things we were doing was... boring, for lack of a better word. I like to animate frame by frame, freehand, but we were copy & pasting the same thing over and over. if I wanted to make a cheaply animated show I'd be set, but I want movement in my work. I did a couple animations when I had free time, but those don't count for a final grade.
towards the end, we had a final, and this was when we were extremely poor. this was when we were going to get kicked out of the apartment. this was when we had no food, and I am not exaggerating. we had nothing, and the professor told me to go out and buy a blank CD, and microphone. we also had no internet, so I couldn't get a voice clip online. so, since I couldn't get the microphone, I used this voice clip he gave everyone in the middle of the semester. what do I get as a comment from him? "K, this is not what I asked for." that's it. nothing about the actual animation -- fucking nothing. it was an animation class, not a who-has-money-and-the-best-voice-clip class. I explained to him how I didn't even have a taco shell at home to eat, and I didn't even get a response.
this fucking devastated me, and I lost all of my confidence in animation. I know, I shouldn't take it so srsly, but I did and still do. he insulted my monetary state, and my ability -- how could I not be angry? he ripped my dream right out of my heart and stomped all over it.
I have been trying to put it in the past since, as lame as it is, one of my actual motto's is Hakuna Matata. but it's hard, and has taken me so long to get back into little animations. I've decided to start practicing again, and forget about that man. I hope to at least get to animating little 2 minute things w/ songs.
